Substance use
Substance use counseling in Ormond Beach
Recovery and relapse prevention, from a counselor who spent years working in substance-abuse treatment centers.
Where this comes from
Before private practice I worked in community mental health and then in substance-abuse treatment centers. That work taught me both empathy and healthy confrontation, and substance use counseling needs both.
Relapse prevention
The work here centers on relapse prevention: understanding your triggers and high-risk situations, having a plan for the hard days, building healthier ways to cope with stress and emotions, and building a life that supports recovery. You’ll get support, and you’ll get honesty.
Outpatient counseling, and when you need more
This is outpatient counseling: regular 50-minute sessions, in person in Ormond Beach or by video anywhere in Florida. It is not detox. If you need medical detox or a higher level of care, I’ll help you find it. In Volusia County, SMA Healthcare runs a 24/7 line at 1-800-539-4228.
This might be you if
